We Enjoy Praying
“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” Psalm 16:11 NIV.
There are several reasons for feeling excited when we are about to pray or are attending prayer meetings. There is joy in the presence of God, as read in the above bible verse. We should enjoy praying and talking to our loving Father.
Because of His Love
“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Jeremiah 31.3.
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgression – it is by grace you have been saved” Ephesians 2:4.
God loves us and we love Him. He surrounds us in his love. We continually abide in the presence of the God who loves us. We should be excited to have the opportunity to talk to him. We should feel excited that we are approaching the presence of God whom we confess to love. We should be filled with joy for just being in his presence because we love him, and he loves us.
Because of His Peace
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7.
We should be excited about praying. We know that when we are burdened or worried about anything, we have the Almighty God we can cast them all on. Is that not enough to rejoice before God everyday? Not only that we can cast all our worries and cares on Jesus, but we know that when we have prayed his peace will flow through our hearts and minds to assure us that all will be well.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guide your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7.
Because He Hears Us
“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands, and do what pleases him” 1 John 3: 21-22.
God says “Before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear” Isaiah 65:24.
We should be excited to learn that God is going to hear us if we ask him anything. We should be filled with joy at the knowledge that he has already answered before we finished asking.
Do you enjoy praying and why?
