Share It With God
We have several friends, but which one is closest to our heart. Which one of our friends `gets us?' We notice that we share different things with each of our friends. When we are in trouble, there will be one or two special friends within our group of friends who will be the first people we call on. We share secrets with them. We can rely on them. We trust them to do the right thing by us.
An acquaintance can become our best friend depending on how much time we spend together and what we share with each other. The more time we spend with God discussing our lives and what God's plans are for us and his people, the closer our relationship with him. When we take an interest in God and obey his commands, we will be surprised by what we learn.
The Bible states "The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant" Psalm 25:14. Abraham was a friend of God. "And the Lord said, shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do" Genesis 18:17.
Our relationship with God must be an open book. Through prayers, we can develop a closer relationship with God that takes our friendship with God to another spiritual level.
