Birthday Celebrations

Don’t we all love a good party! Birthdays as any other are good excuses to bring friends and family together. Even for those who do not want a fuss, they can still feel the love. Proud parents and friends boast of their loved one’s achievements in never ending speeches.

There is one thing that I find missing at Birthdays. I do not really attend many but for those who do, you probably would notice, including your own birthday no one talks about where you were born. Not even the proud moms and dads ever mention whether you were born in a hospital, in a bath tub, or even at the back seat of a car. The loved ones tell of what you have become and what you have done for others (that is if you are in to the charity activities).

Christmas is a joyful time. Someone important was born on Christmas day. Many people around the world are celebrating Jesus’ birthday. Jesus was born on Christmas day! Christians are rejoicing. Every year, we hear stories of the baby Jesus born in a manager. It reminds me of christening and baby welcoming celebrations. #christmas

Baby Jesus

Everyone talks about the baby. Since the baby has done nothing else then exist beautifully outside its mother’s womb, the talk of the town is a beautiful baby was born. The gossip may cover whether the baby was born at home or in the hospital. After all, that is what is expected at such ceremonies. By the time the baby is one year old, all that the parents can talk about is how the baby can walk, crawl, smile, and talk. #birthdays

Christians, more than any other religion, know that the baby Jesus has grown up. No single adult Christian wants their loved ones to continue talking about their baby years and showing their baby photos on a yearly basis to celebrate their birthdays.

If Christians cannot lead the way and decide to continue to present a baby in a manger, then who will present a resurrected saviour, healer, and coming King? #Jesus
