The Year Ahead - 2022
As this year rolls to an end, some of us wonder about the year ahead and what is in store for us and our country. We are all aware of what last year threw at us, and how this year has not made us put the devastating effect of the pandemic firmly behind us.
It is hard to see a bright future in 2022. We can anticipate, predict, forecast, and prophesize. Yet, many hearts and minds would like to have the evidence at hand that all is under control. For some of us who lost loved one, homes, and jobs , we may never forget what happened during the pandemic.
Some of us have learnt that the best way to get through the months ahead is to invite God to take control of the situation in our country and our lives. With Jesus in our lives, we find peace of mind during the turbulent times.
Prayer is the answer. If we know how to pray and cast our cares on Jesus, he knows how to keep our hearts and minds in perfect peace.
The Bible states: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4: 6-7 NIV).
We pray that God will grant us the grace to continue to look ahead with hope and patience.
We pray that God will continue to draw us closer to Jesus Christ and cover us with the atoning blood.
We pray that God will continue to comfort those who lost loved ones and help them to move forward one day at a time.
We pray that the year ahead will see many people find peace, love, strength and hope again.
Many people lost their jobs over the last few months. We pray that God will guide those who trust in him into new employment that will progress their careers.
Many people lost their homes. We pray that God will continue to provide roofs over their heads until they are able to find places of their own. We pray that the year ahead will be their year when things fall in place for them.
We pray that many people will find their faith in Jesus again, having once tasted the goodness of God and experienced the joy of having a relationship with the Living God.
We pray that those who are seeking the Way to heaven will find the Truth.
